Pace® Salsa Verde takes the distinctive taste of tangy tomatillos and adds a spicy kick from handpicked jalapeños.
What is Salsa Verde?
Salsa verde is a type of spicy, green sauce in Mexican cuisine based on tomatillo and green chili peppers. Our recipe is made with tangy tomatillos and a kick of fresh jalapeño. Then we threw in onion, garlic and cilantro to balance it out.
What is a tomatillo?
Tomatillos, sometimes called husk tomatoes, look like green, unripe tomatoes with a dry, leafy husk that wraps around the outside. They have a vibrant, tart flavour with citrus undertones. The color of the fruit is a beautiful bright green, which fades a bit once you cook them.
